Lettering and calligraphy tattoos are drawn letterforms, not typed fonts — the words are built by hand around the line of your body. I letter in English and Spanish: script, chicano style, single names and long phrases. I work at Wooden Heart Tattoo in West Palm Beach and see clients from Boynton Beach and Lake Worth.
The process
Consultation
We talk through the idea, references, placement and size — in English or Spanish. You leave knowing the session length and the price.
Design
I draw your piece custom for your body. You see the drawing before the session and we adjust until it is right.
Session
Half day or full day at Wooden Heart Tattoo. Clean setup, calm pace, breaks whenever you need them.
Aftercare
You go home with written aftercare and my number. I check in while it heals and touch up if the piece needs it.
Questions
Can you design custom calligraphy from a phrase?
Yes — that is most of my lettering work. Send me the exact words and tell me what they mean to you, and I draw the letterforms by hand around your placement instead of setting a font.
You see the drawing and approve it before the session.
What fonts work best on skin?
Script and chicano-style lettering read beautifully on long, flat planes: forearm, ribs, stomach, spine. Very thin or very ornate letterforms need size to survive.
If the piece has to be small, I open the spacing and thicken the strokes so it stays legible for decades.
Can you letter in Spanish?
Of course — I letter in Spanish regularly. Accents, tildes and the ñ get set properly, and if a phrase reads awkwardly I will tell you before it becomes permanent.
